I am also a huge fan of old cookbooks.
I like to compare cooking techniques, ingredients, and recipes from the past to the present. And since this is for curiosity and research only, condition matters less than readability. I'm not looking for valuable books, just old ones. 1950, 1940 or older. The older being the better. And the older a book is, the more I am willing to let condition slide, as long as it's readable.I also have a smaller fondness for 1960 cookbooks, but here I like the condition to be at least very good. Illustrations or pictures are a plus, as I have a silly, warm spot for the parties and get togethers of the 60s, and can get quite sentimental about the imagery.
Quote me a price that you're willing to offer your old cookbook up for, and if I want it, I'll let you know if I'm willing to trade off the price of some artwork.
